District Governor’s Message: Nominate an Agent of Peace for 2024!

Rotary District 6270 is pleased to announce the second annual Rotary District 6270 "Agent of Peace" award! This prestigious award celebrates those who go above and beyond in advancing international understanding and peace, making a real impact in our world. Whether through local or global humanitarian efforts, this award honors individuals whose work transcends their professional responsibilities.

Why This Award Matters

Rotary’s mission is built on peace, goodwill, and understanding. We recognize that peace is not just about the absence of conflict. It is about building environments where communities can thrive and relationships can flourish. Today, more than 70 million people are displaced by conflict, persecution, or violence, and it is critical that we do our part to build peace. Rotary refuses to accept conflict as an inevitable part of life, and this award honors individuals who share this vision.

By recognizing an "Agent of Peace," we highlight the incredible work being done by those who embody our commitment to peace-building. Whether the work takes place here in Wisconsin or across the globe, these efforts address critical issues like poverty, discrimination, and lack of access to education—helping to create a more peaceful and equitable world.

Nominate Someone Today!

Do you know someone who is making a difference through peace-building? Anyone in Wisconsin from Winnebago County southward, and from Walworth, Waukesha, Washington, Marquette & Waushara Counties eastward is invited to nominate an individual from that area for this award. Whether you are a community member, a business leader, an educator, or a Rotary member, your perspective is valued. You do not need to be part of Rotary to recognize someone’s efforts in creating peaceful spaces and fostering a culture of peace. This award is designed to celebrate individuals from all walks of life. We encourage everyone in the region to participate and shine a light on those making a positive impact. Nominations, including self-nominations, are welcome!

The nomination process is simple:

  • Submit your nomination online by using this form.
  • Nominations are open until Friday, October 18, 2024.

The recipient will be recognized at the Rotary District 6270 Foundation Dinner on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Chandelier Ballroom in Hartford, WI. This is a perfect opportunity to shine a light on those who are working tirelessly to make a difference!

Growing our Peace-Building Legacy

I encourage each club to think about who might be deserving of this recognition. Let’s share the stories of those who are creating lasting change, strengthening communities, and inspiring peace through their actions.

Together, we can create greater awareness of Rotary’s peace mission and the ways we make our efforts and initiatives a living reality. Thank YOU for your continued dedication and service through this amazing organization. Let’s make this year’s "Agent of Peace" award a testament to the incredible impact we continue to achieve when we work together for a better world.

Yours in Service,
Pete Bosch
