Rotary District 6270 has been the primary supporter of the World Affairs Seminar (WAS) for many years through two channels.  Rotary Clubs within the district have supported WAS by sponsoring area high school students to participate as delegates to the annual event.  The district has provided monetary support as part of its annual budget.  WAS is the sole program of the Wisconsin World Affairs Council which has launched a new Annual Fund Campaign to help WAS maneuver through these extraordinary times.  The goal of the new Annual Fund Campaign is to raise $20,000 by November 1st, 2022.  As an incentive to kick off this campaign, RID 6270 will provide Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) points to Rotary Clubs and individuals who give new money to WAS through October 31st.

The details of the Paul Harris Fellow matching points incentive are:

  • Each PHF point is the equivalent of a $1 contribution to The Rotary Foundation and counts toward earning a Paul Harris Fellow or Multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
  • Rotary Clubs who give new money to the Annual Campaign, either through their Foundations or their club budget, will receive one PHF point for every $1 given beginning at a minimum donation of $1,000.  A maximum of 5000 PHF points will be awarded on a club basis.  Clubs may then award these newly-earned PHF points as they see fit within their clubs.
  • Individuals who give new money will also receive one PHF point for every $1 of new money given beginning at a minimum donation of $100.
  • Contributions in any amount are appreciated. Individual donors who contribute $10 - $99 will have their name entered in a drawing to receive 100 PHF points.  Rotary Clubs that donate between $100 and $999 will be entered in a drawing to receive 200 PHF points.
  • The district will award a total of 20,000 PHF points on a first-come, first-serve basis.

With the launch of the Annual Fund Campaign, Wisconsin World Affairs Council is initiating new recognition levels on a club level.  Club and individual contributions from club members will be aggregated to meet these levels.  While the PHF matching point awards are for new money only, a club’s normal giving/sponsorship of students as well as any new giving through this annual campaign will count toward these recognition levels.  Recognition will be given to Rotary Clubs with aggregations of $1000 or more as follows:

  • Peace Through Understanding: $10,000+
  • Dynamic Dove: $5,000 - $9,999
  • Dove of Peace: $3,000 - $4,999
  • Olive Branch: $1,000 - $2,999
