Rotary District 6270 is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all youth involved in Rotary programs.
We believe protecting young people is not only a priority—it’s a responsibility. Rotary provides opportunities for youth to grow as leaders, and we must ensure that these opportunities take place in safe, supportive, and respectful environments.

Rotary International’s Statement of Conduct for Working with Youth

"Rotary International strives to create and maintain a safe environment for all youth who participate in Rotary activities. To the best of their ability, Rotary members, their partners, and other volunteers must safeguard the children and young people with whom they come into contact and protect them from physical, sexual, and psychological abuse."

District 6270 upholds these global standards, reinforcing them with clear local policies, training, and accountability measures.

Families and youth-serving organizations trust Rotary District 6270 and its member clubs to uphold the highest standards of care and leadership. Working with youth is a privilege—one that requires each of us to earn and maintain their trust through our actions.

All Rotarians, their spouses or partners, and any volunteers working with youth are expected to:

• Provide a safe, respectful environment free from abuse and discrimination.

• Abide by the District 6270 Volunteer Policy and Rotary International’s Youth Protection Guidelines.

• Complete required youth protection training.

• Report any concerns or violations promptly and responsibly.

What Clubs Must Know

Any club sponsoring or participating in youth programs—such as Rotary Youth Exchange, RYLA, Interact, Rotaract, or other youth-focused initiatives—must ensure:

• All volunteers working directly with youth complete required background checks and training.

• Club youth protection officers are designated and trained.

• All activities follow Rotary International and District 6270 guidelines.
