Special Invitation to Zones 28 & 29 Rotarians

 

ROTARY DAY AT THE U.N.

Greetings Rotarians!
 
Come join me and my husband, Rotarian Nick Krayacich, and Rotarians from Rotary Zones 28 and 29 and around the world at the Rotary Day at the United Nations in New York City.  We will be celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations on Saturday, November 7.
 
Why does the United Nations host such a special event for Rotary International?
  • 49 Rotarians participated in the drafting of the United Nations Charter
  • Rotary International holds the largest non-governmental office at the United Nations
  • The vision of peace and understanding aligns with Rotary’s vision
  • Rotarians serve in various capacities as advisors on committees of the United Nations
 
In addition to hearing from United Nations and Rotary leadership on the post-millennium goals and new United Nations and Rotary initiatives, our Zones 28 and 29 have some fun events planned.  On Saturday morning, we will gather at the Today Show plaza wearing Polio Plus aprons and promoting Rotary’s role in eradicating polio.  Following the United Nations meeting, we will have an early evening reception and dinner with ample time for Rotarians to make Broadway shows that evening.
 
In addition to enjoying the camaraderie of Rotarians from our Zones and around the world, it is a great opportunity to explore New York City and enjoy its many cultural and entertainment events.  Additional information on nearby hotels is attached in the flyer.  Details on the Saturday morning Polio Plus event and dinner will be sent to registrants during September.
